Operas and One-Acts on the Horizon

Lots of projects in progress and a few openings imminent!

On the writing front, my seven-minute adaptation of Moby Dick, CALL ME…, is one of the pieces featured in 3V Theatre’s evening of staged readings, “Soaked.”  One night only: March 30th, 8pm, at TheaterLab.

Additionally, my play, FISH FOOD, opens April 9th as part of the WorkShop Theater Company’s main stage production of food-themed one-acts: A La Carte: A Feast of New Plays.  Details available at the link below:

(A rare experience having my face involved with publicity materials, but there I am looking contemplative on the right.)

I’m also the resident director for enCANTA Collective’s 2014-2015 season.  In December I had my maiden voyage in opera direction with enCANTA’s productions of GALLANTRY and THE CHRISTMAS ROSE.  Rehearsals are currently underway for “Fables and Fairy Tales: Puss in Boots,” an evening including Robert Schumann’s Three Romances for clarinet; scenes from Janacek’s THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, Dvorak’s RUSALKA, and Rossini’s LA CENERENTOLA; and Xavier Montsalvatge’s PUSS IN BOOTS.  Come catch all the operatic action at All Saint’s Church on April 12th, 5pm.  Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com or at the door.
